Castle Eaton Ltd built a £1.2m home for us in 2004/5 to a VERY POOR standard. After having lived there for nearly 2 years, the house still remained unfinished. We were forced to vacate the property following an electrical inspection revealed that the whole installation was extremely dangerous and the house needs to be gutted and re-wired and redecorated including having to take down all ceilings and most internal plaster on the walls. A structual survey has revealed numerious defects although numerous and costly, are fixable. The cost of rectification (including fees and temp accomm)will exceed £650,000. Castle Eaton Ltd will not respond and we are currently taking them to court. This is a lengthy and costly process and we expect to be able to return to our home no sooner that some time in 2010 by which time we will would have been out of our home for 3 years. Anyone considering using this builder should steer clear!!!...
